Ph.D. student Luís C. de Sousa (2BRG-iBB) presented his work during the IFPB 2024 (International Conference on Fiber and Polymer Biotechnology) conference in Borås, Sweden. The conference, organized this year by the University of Borås, focuses on the use of biotechnology on the production, application, and recycling of natural and synthetic fibers, polymers, and textiles. Luís Sousa made a presentation titled “Application of bacterial lipases/esterases for removal of spin finishes from synthetic fiber textiles” related to the work of the Futurenzyme project focused on the application of enzymes in the textile industry.
