iBB’s organizational framework includes the Executive Committee (EC), the Coordination Committee (CC), the Scientific Council (SC), the International Scientific Advisory Committee (ISAC) and the Research Groups (RG). The management of iBB adheres to statutes approved by the Scientific Council of IST, which ensure effective governance and accountability.

iBB – Governance
Executive Committee

The Executive Committee (EC) includes the President, the Vice-President and a committee member. The President is responsible for the overall management and the EC is responsible for the implementation of the Strategic Program and for the financial state of affairs and staffing. The EC is assisted by the Support Team, which includes a Research Manager, the Administrative Staff, and the Communication Group with representatives of all Research Groups.

Coordination Committee

The Coordination Committee, which includes the President and the leaders of the Research Groups, is responsible for the coordination of the research, education and technology transfer activities.

Scientific Council

The Scientific Council (SC) integrates all doctorate members of iBB and meets regularly in the annual scientific meetings. Responsibilities of the SC include the designation of the President, the ratification of the Executive Committee and of the Coordination Committee and the approval of the scientific strategic plan.

International Scientific Advisory Committee

The ISAC includes top scientists from Europe and US, who produce recommendations and suggestions related to iBB´s strategic options and their implementation:
