On September 26, iBB once again marked its presence at the European Researchers’ Night, an event that brings science closer to society and sparks curiosity among people of all ages. This year, our researchers were present at two venues in Lisbon: the Pavilhão do Conhecimento – Ciência Viva and the Museu Nacional de História Natural e da Ciência.

At the Pavilhão do Conhecimento, visitors were guided through the fascinating process of how vaccines are made, following the journey from plasmid DNA to mRNA vaccines. This interactive activity allowed the public to better understand the science behind one of today’s most impactful medical technologies.

Meanwhile, at the Museu Nacional de História Natural e da Ciência, Joana Felixiano spoke to RTP about antimicrobial resistance (AMR), one of the major global health challenges of our time. Her contribution was featured in a segment on Portugal em Direto, broadcast nationally by RTP, which highlighted both the enthusiasm of researchers and the importance of raising awareness about AMR. The feature can be viewed here (minutes 24:30–30:29).
