Science beyond borders
iBB is part of national and international networks of Research Infrastructures that drive innovation and discovery in its fields of activity.
Through these collaborations, iBB contributes to and benefits from shared knowledge, resources, and expertise.
Portuguese Distributed Infrastructure for Biological Data
BioData.pt is a nonprofit association composed of 14 life sciences research and innovation (R&I) organizations spread across the country, which is the home of the Portuguese Node of ELIXIR.
It supports the national scientific system by implementing best practices in data management and offering state-of-the-art data analysis. Services include computing resources, bioinformatics, data management services, and ELIXIR services such as training programs and computing facilities.
PPBI – Portuguese Platform of BioImaging
PPBI is a national infrastructure that aims to rationalize and maximize the Portuguese technical capabilities and resources in Advanced Microscopy and Bioimaging in the domains of Biology, Biomedicine, and Bioengineering.
As a distributed Infrastructure, PPBI gathers 20 core facilities enabling Portuguese and International researchers in academia and industry to access multiple bioimaging modalities operating at all scales from electron microscopy, fluorescence nanoscopy and advanced light microscopy up to whole animal imaging, including advanced quantitative image analysis.
Through PPBI, iBB integrates the European Research Infrastructure EURO-BIOIMAGING
EATRIS- European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine
Through EATRIS Portugal, iBB integrates the European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine, which aims to support researchers and industry in translating biomedical discoveries into novel tools, products and interventions for better health outcomes for society.
EATRIS provides access to a vast array of pre-clinical and clinical expertise and facilities from over 150 academic centres across Europe. Solutions are developed in the fields of advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs), Imaging and tracing, small molecules, vaccines and biomarkers.
