Synthesis strategies and cancer therapy applications of PEDOT nanoparticles

PEDOT nanoparticles are emerging as a promising innovation for cancer therapies, particularly in photothermal therapy and controlled drug delivery, due to their electrical conductivity and versatile functionalization capabilities.

In this article recently published in Materials Advances, iBB researchers Diogo Dias, Leonor Resina, Frederico Ferreira, Paola Alberte, and Teresa Esteves provided an overview of the current state of the art of the synthesis strategies and characterization techniques of PEDOT nanoparticles, their therapeutic applications, and the challenges in the clinical translation of these nanoparticles, showcasing their potential to revolutionize cancer treatment with more targeted approaches.
