Acronym PBA Title Blue Bioeconomy Pact Summary

Defendendo um novo paradigma sustentável, inovador e descarbonizador, que encontra no mar uma resposta ao desafio da escassez global de recursos terrestres, e reunindo variadas indústrias nacionais, o Pacto da Bioeconomia Azul prevê desenvolver novos produtos, processos e serviços resultantes da incorporação de bens da bioeconomia azul em novas ou já existentes cadeias de valor, com impacto positivo no ambiente, na vida dos consumidores e nas exportações nacionais. Investirá em 7 sectores – através de: aplicação de biomateriais; novo paradigma para a produção de bivalves; têxteis de base marinha; sustentabilidade no sector alimentar; aumento da produção de algas; soluções de alimentação circular; bioinformática para o sector das pescas -, e em 3 iniciativas transversais destinadas a acelerar o desenvolvimento e comercialização de produtos e serviços do sector – a rede portuguesa Blue Biobanks, uma plataforma digital para a valorização dos co-produtos marinhos, e na promoção do crescimento e internacionalização das empresas e PMEs.
