Expertise: Microbial Systematics, Extremophile Microbiology, Metagenomics, Marine Microbiology, Bioprospecting
Short Bio:
Vishwanath Khadye is a dedicated researcher in strain engineering and bioprocess development for heterologus expression of industrially valuable proteins and enzymes. With a Masters in biotechnology from University of Mumbai, India (2010) and a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India (2022), his research work focus mainly on exploring microbial hosts for recombinant expression of mesophilic and thermostable proteins or enzymes for industrial applications. He has worked on various industrial projects funded by Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), and Department of Biotechnology (DBT, India) in collaboration with the University of Manchester and the University of Leeds. He has a experience working in an enzyme production industry where he was leading a team of researchers for bacterial strain development and bioprocess optimization for large scale production of industrially valuable enzymes. His work bridges basic research with industrial applications of proteins and enzymes.
Research Focus:
Microbial strain and bioprocess development for recombinant protein production for industrial applications
