Short Bio:
Natércia Rodrigues Lopes is a junior researcher at iBB whose research focuses on the photophysics of various molecules of interest, from anti-malarial drugs to chemosensors. She obtained an MChem degree in Chemistry from the University of Leicester (UK) in 2014, followed by a PhD at the University of Warwick (UK). Her thesis, titled 'Ultrafast Photoprotection mechanisms: expediting the molecular design of sunscreen agents' was awarded the 2018 Science Faculty Thesis Prize. She was as postdoc at Warwick before becoming a Marie Curie Research Fellow at Lipotec (Barcelona, Spain) between 2020-2022. Natércia is also a passionate educator and award-winning teacher.
