Expertise: RNA binding proteins (RBPs), noncoding RNAs, bacterial extracelular vesicles, RNA interactome, host-pathogen interaction
Short Bio:
Joana Feliciano is a researcher dedicated to understand noncoding RNA functions and RNA-binding proteins in bacterial pathogens. Completed a Master in Applied Microbiology (Faculty Sciences ULisboa, 2011) and obtained a PhD degree in Biotechnology and Biosciences (IST, 2017), including a two-year period in the laboratory Bacterial Virulence and Chronic Infections (UMontpellier) exploring zebrafish embryos as an infection model. The expertise in the field was reinforced by the international experience as visiting researcher in RNA biology group (UWürzburg) and in Leo Eberl’s group (UZurich), namely in integrative OMICs approaches (RNomics and Interactomics) and in production and isolation of bacterial extracellular vesicles.
