Expertise: Organic synthesis; photophysical; Fluorescent probes; clinical diagnosis; heterocylic molecules;
Short Bio:
Hélio Barros is a junior researcher at BSIRG working in the development of alternative to conventional antibiotics, based on especially designed polyurea dendrimers. Hélio obtained a degree in Applied Chemistry/Organic Chemistry from Nova University of Lisbon (2012), Master in Chemistry (2015) and PhD in Materials Science (2019) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. His PhD entitled “Development and Application of Dyes and New Fluorescent Microstructured Materials for Latent Fingerprints Detection and Clinical Diagnosis” was nominated by unanimity for the Capes Award – Best PhD thesis in the materials area. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the LNEG (2019-2021) and junior researcher at FF-UL (2021-2022).
