Short Bio:
Francisco Marques is a PhD candidate in Bioengineering at IST. With a MSc (2023) and BSc (2021) in Biological Engineering from IST, his bioprocess design passion brought him to continue with his studies in the area. Francisco's work revolves around the development of a bioprocess to produce siRNA with the goal of developing a sustainable platform for the production of bioinsecticides. He intends to combine classical design procedures with modelling of unit procedures, as well as the global process, towards the goals of Industry 4.0.
Research Focus:
Investigation torwards the development of a sustainable bioprocess for the production of a siRNA based biopesticide.
