Expertise: Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), X-chromossome inativation(XCI), Reprogramming, Epigenetics
Short Bio:
Francisca Mateus holds a Bachelor's in Biochemistry and a Master’s in Molecular Biomedicine (University of Aveiro). Currently pursuing a PhD in Bioengineering, her research focuses on unraveling the mechanisms behind X-Chromosome Inactivation(XCI) instability in hiPSCs. Her ultimate goal is to develop a reprogramming technique that enables the generation of high-quality iPSCs with stable XCI for broader applications in research and biomedical fields.
Research Focus:
Explore the mechanisms that drive X-chromossome inativation(XCI) instability in hiPSCs.
