Short Bio:
Fábio Fernandes concluded his PhD in Chemistry at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in 2007, working on the topic of protein-lipid interactions. He then carried out consecutive postdocs while working in the field of Membrane Biophysics (Max-Plack Institute in Göttingen and at IST), finally joining UCIBIO as an Auxiliary Researcher in 2016. In 2017, Fábio Fernandes returned to IST as an FCT Researcher and since 2019 he is Assistant Professor at the Department of Bioengineering of IST. His research is in the field of Molecular and Cellular Biophysics, with focus on probing Biomembrane organization through advanced Fluorescence imaging and Spectroscopy.
