Short Bio:
Diogo Gonçalves is currently pursuing his PhD degree in Chemistry dedicated to the astrobiology of Titan, the Saturn’s moon. With master’s degrees in Bioengineering and Nanosystems (2020) and Chemistry (2021) from Instituto Superior Técnico, Diogo is exploring a new scenario of habitability on the surface of Titan whilst designing fluorescent and colorimetric sensors meant for the in-situ characterisation of Titan’s lakes.
Research Focus:
The origin of life on Earth and elsewhere. The habitability and search for life on extra-terrestrial worlds.
