Expertise: Organ-on-chip, tissue engineering, medical research, personalized medicine, pluripotent stem cells.
Short Bio:
Beatriz is a PhD student at Hovione focused on the development of a lung microphysiological system for predicting the bioavailability of dry powder inhalation products through a PBPK model. She studied Biological Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico and conducted her Master Thesis in the Netherlands, with engineered heart tissues for cardiovascular disease modelling and drug screening. She worked at iBET, Lisbon, in the optimization of human induced pluripotent stem cell derived cardiomyocytes cryopreservation and maturation, the study of controlled release of extracellular vesicles on hydrogels and as a specialized technician for cell therapies for Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
