We are pleased to announce that the “Results in Brief” article titled “Building a Greener Future with Tailored Enzymes”, resulting from the EU project FuturEnzyme, has been published on the CORDIS website in six languages. The article is included in the Results Pack on “Strengthening the EU’s Prosperity through Sustainable and Circular Bioeconomy Innovations.”
The FuturEnzyme project, coordinated by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), focused on the development of environmentally friendly enzymes for more sustainable detergents, cosmetics, and textile industries.
By replacing conventional chemical processes with biological alternatives, the project aimed to reduce environmental impact without compromising product quality or performance. FuturEnzyme employed state-of-the-art enzyme discovery and engineering approaches, combined with advanced computational tools, to accelerate the adoption of sustainable biotechnology in commercial applications.
