PWS_Metabolite
This project investigates the impact of microbial metabolites on appetite regulation and energy balance in individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) through a collaboration with Dr. Lerin’s lab at Fundació Sant Joan de Déu, Spain. By analyzing the effects of probiotic supplementation on the gut microbiome and metabolome in subjects with PWS, the study aims to identify potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets for the disease. Additionally, the project seeks to generate and characterize hypothalamic arcuate nucleus organoids (ARCOs) from stem cells, providing a platform to evaluate the impact of selected metabolites on hypothalamic functioning, thus shedding light on the molecular mechanisms underlying PWS and potential therapeutic interventions
