Big congrats to Kristin Schueler from iBB who has been shortlisted for the 2026 Lush Prize Young Researcher Award, for her engagement as Student Ambassador for 3R and Non-Animal Methods and her outstanding work on 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥-𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞, 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧-𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡.
Being selected for this shortlist places her among a small group of early-career scientists 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 and toward more predictive human-centered systems.
The 𝐋𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 supports early-career scientists working to replace the use of animals in research, testing and education. In each award cycle, five researchers receive £10,000 to help bring animal-free, human-relevant methods closer to real-world use. The award is part of the wider Lush Prize programme, one of the largest global initiatives dedicated to advancing non-animal science.
