Research Activities

The overall goal of my research is to develop scalable, integrated and innovative downstream processes for the purification of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) based on clarification (cell harvest) by extraction using aqueous two-phase systems, and further purification by multimodal chromatographic systems operated under axial and/or radial modes. The thermodynamics of mAbs interaction with the different chromatography ligands and polymers are also of great interest in my research. I’m also focused in the optimization of the production of mAbs using mammalian cell technology.
