Research Activities

Microbiology of lung infections in cystic fibrosis patients. In particular, the identification and characterization of virulence factors of bacteria of the Burkholderia cepacia complex (Bcc), with the objective to identify new targets for the development of new antimicrobials. Identification and exploitation of the immunogenic properties of proteins of the Bcc to design new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to fight the infections caused by these pathogens.
