Research Activities

The potential application of stem cells (both embryonic and adult) in regenerative medicine requires the production of large quantities of these cells. Then, there is a need to develop large-scale bioreaction systems for the ex-vivo expansion and controlled differentiation of stem cells. My research focuses on the design, operation and characterization of a stirred suspension bioreactor for the expansion and neural differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells on microcarriers.
